Public Computers

Computer logo The library has computers available for public use in each department. These computers have access to the Internet as well as Microsoft Office software installed (Word, Excel and Powerpoint). Patrons must present a DPL library card or photo ID to sign up to use the computers. The computers share a black &-white laser printer, which costs $.10 per page to print out. They also have access to a networked color copier/printer, which costs $.25 per page to print out. All computers have access to use USB Thumbdrives and/or Burn CDs. Cd's are available at the Desks for $1.00 Any files saved on the Network are subject to view by other Patrons and to be Deleted at the Begining of every Month.

Youth Services also has 2 AWE computers, 1 was received through a grant from the Indiana State Library and The Institute of Museum of Library Service. These computers have no access to the Internet but have a variety of educational software installed that children can play.

 

Photocopiers/Fax Machine

There are black & white photocopiers in each department, with the Adult Services Department having a color photocopier/printer/scanner. Black & white photocopies are $.10 a page; color photocopies are $.25 a page.

Patrons also have access to a fax machine--incoming faxes are $.10 per page. To send a fax costs $1.00 per page.

 

Video Magnifier

Video magnifier There is an Atlas 710 Video Magnifier located in Adult Services, which allows patrons with visual impairments to enlarge the text of their book or magazine. The magnifier was generously donated by Telesensory.

 

Microfilm Reader

There is a microfilm reader/printer in the Indiana Room, which can view both 16 and 35 mm microfilm. Copies are $.10 a page.
